Lake Manze Tented Camp

Lake Manze Tented Camp is located in the Selous Game Reserve, the largest game reserve in Africa and is situated on the banks of Lake Manze. On the one hour transit to the camp which can be reached from Siwandu airstrip, one is introduced to the beautiful plains of Selous and its abundant birds and wildlife. The Lake Manze area boasts of the richest diversity of wildlife in the entire Selous, both in the dry and the wet season, making it an ideal place for a safari adventure packed with wildlife sightings. 

The camp consists of twelve tents, all well-spaced apart offering a degree of privacy and tranquility, but all still with good views of the lake. The tents are 'meru-style' canvas with double zip locking and mesh windows to keep it relaxing and insect-free. Doum palms and Terminalia offer shade to all of the tents to keep them cool and refreshing after a long day of safari activities. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and hot shower and is furnished with twin or double beds. They are spacious, with a comfortable veranda to watch the animals passing by.

The area is wonderful to explore, with remarkably diverse wildlife being supported both on land and in the lake. Frequent visitors to the lake include bellowing hippos, crocodiles, herds of elephants, herons and many more who are draw to the life-giving waters amid the dry environment.
