Lion

For as long as man has walked the great grasslands of Africa he has had the foresight to fear and distance himself from the lion - the king of beasts. There are no words to describe the thunderous roar of a dominate male lion as he summons the ladies of his pride to gather for a hunt. Take out your camera and capture the savannah wind as it ruffles his mane and note the unique behaviors that go on within the pride. Several different types of lions are found in Africa, including the black maned lions of the Kalahari and the tree dwelling varieties in the swampy lowlands of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Regardless of which one you are lucky enough to spot, it will surely make for an incredible memory of the iconic king of the beasts.
