Duba Plains

Okavango Delta, Botswana

Platinum price level

Mango Opinion

Duba Plains is a luxurious camp located in a prime wildlife region.  This camp expertly combines an amazing wildlife experience with a five star service experience of fine dining and wines.  It is pricey but worth it!

Duba Plains is one of the Okavango Delta's most remote camps and is located in the furthermost reaches of the delta in a very private reserve of 30,000 hectares. The camp is built on an island, shaded by large ebony, fig and garcinia trees and surrounded by expansive plains which are seasonally flooded, bringing a flush of green that attracts an impressive array of wildlife. This area is home to lions, leopards, huge herds of lechwe, elephants and buffalo, as well as a large variety of Okavango Delta bird life. Since Duba has access to large islands, floodplains and marshes, the camp offers a diversity of experiences. Duba's real treat is its exclusivity and it is particularly suited for those who want to be far away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

This luxurious camp is small and intimate.  All guests receive a highly personalized experience. Each of the beautifully appointed tented rooms has an en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers as well as a copper bathub. During the heat of the day an environmentally friendly air-conditioning system over the beds keep you cool.  Enjoy your private veranda with a plunge pool overlooking the floodplains and any wildlife that may wander by. The main area, well-shaded under large riverine trees, consists of a large raised dining room, and splendid lounge with private dining areas, wine cellar, library and media room.
