Traveling during a Pandemic: Expertise You Can Trust

After an intense year, travel is the escape you need right now.

We are adapting our 21 years of expertise to the times so we can continue to bring the best travel experiences to you. With our finger ever on the pulse of the latest in African travel, we are your source for the latest updates and information. In a time with plenty of uncertainty, we are here to answer any and all questions you may have.

We’ve worked with our trusted partners in Africa to create flexible terms and conditions so you can feel confident in your options when you book with us.

We are planning trips that maximize safety and anticipate changes that may arise. From using airlines that enforce safety measures to slowing down the pace of travel for less time in busy areas and more time in the fresh air of the bush, we will craft an itinerary tailored for optimal safety and optimal enjoyment.

We’re including extra days on arrival and camps offering on-site covid testing for seamless arrival and departure proceedings. We’re using fewer stops, responsible camps we trust, and a slower pace of travel so you can immerse into the African experience rather than focusing on the hassle. We’re smartly including measures such as private vehicles and guides.

Is it safe to travel?

In short – yes. There is always some degree of risk when you travel, and that’s no different right now. We have already had clients returning to Africa and having a marvelous time! With endless fresh air, wide-open spaces and small camps, safaris are a natural fit for covid era travel. This is social distancing at its best!

Through effective leadership, Africa has achieved impressive success at shutting down covid outbreaks. The continent has consistently seen low numbers. For example, Rwanda has a population of 12 million people and has only had 5,300 total cases. They are seeing daily case counts under 25, which is almost unfathomable as we sit here in the US.

Where can we travel?

Most of the safari-focused countries are already fully open to US citizens. Our cultural destinations in North Africa are also welcoming Americans. Entry requirements vary by country, but the vast majority require a covid-negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to arrival.

When should we go?

If you are comfortable, travel between now and the end of May 2021. Flights are cheap, there are fantastic exclusive offers and you'll practically have Africa's vast wild spaces to yourself. The camps, guides and wildlife are ready and very excited to welcome you back! We have already had clients returing to Africa and having a marvelous time.

"We still can’t believe we were able to trek mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, enjoy sundowners in the Mara, visit the singing wells and Reteti Elephant Sanctuary at Sarara, learn about rhino conservation in Lewa, and safely experience the beauty and wildlife of Rwanda and Kenya in the time of covid-19. Cheers to Mango and their partners in Africa for planning our incredible trip, dealing with all sorts of changes, and ensuring our safety and compliance with local covid-19 guidelines. Travel safe and wear a mask!"

The time is now!

Swap Zoom meetings for game drives with leopards and baking bread for sundowners with giraffes. Swap your Netflix for a starry campfire and your living room yoga for a gorilla trek.

We have cultivated a collection of one country itineraries that are perfect for the times. By focusing on one country, you minimize the hassle of border crossings and eliminate the need for extra testing. These trips deliver BIG on experience and thrills - wildlife galore, diverse activities, gorgeous camps and unique cultures.
