2-3 NIGHTS in Laikipia Plateau

Laikipia Plateau

Continuing to the Laikipia Plateau where the landscape is gorgeous with sweeping vistas, yellow fever acacia forests, views of Mount Kenya and rocky hills. Private conservancies offer visitors a wide array of activities from walking and horseback safaris, scenic helicopter flights, mountain biking, rock climbing, quad biking in riverbeds. Many camps and organizations do important conservation work protecting the Grevy’s zebra, breeding black and white rhino. The Lewa Conservancy in particular is a model project for land use today and visitors are invited to their headquarters to learn for themselves.

2 NIGHTS

Cultural Focus

There are a small handful of properties where you can fall into the world of the Samburu, the Datooga or the Masai. Spend your time having authentic, honest conversations under a shady tree or explore a local market. Visiting the singing wells, where local people offer a daily drink of water to their animals with age-old practices. The experiences are never the same for any two visits but regularly
a highlight.

3 NIGHTS on safari

Safari in Maasai Mara or Serengeti

Heading into the famous grasslands of the Masai Mara or the Serengeti, we love small, tented camps set in the private conservancies adjacent to the national reserve. These offer the same incredible wildlife with none of the crowds. Antelope, giraffe, gazelles and impala dot the plains. The lions and cheetahs are never far behind. Spend early mornings finding hunting lion prides and pull over under a flat top acacia for a sundowner drink overlooking the open plains.

3 NIGHTS by the beach

Coastal

Heading to the coast, you have a couple of days to relax, reflect and celebrate life. Slow down, watching local women farm seaweed or build wooden dhows by hand. Explore the underwater world while diving, swimming with dolphins or snorkeling with whale sharks. Take long walks on the white sand beach with loved ones. This area of Africa enjoys over 20 kinds of mangos so in season, breakfast is a delight.
