Mary Ellen has been in love with travel from a very early age when her family moved from Toronto to the Lake District in England. Along with this contrast of home, her family traveled to Morocco for a vacation. Both experiences left a strong imprint on her and enhanced her desire to explore.
After leaving England, Mary Ellen spent 15 years learning the details of corporate travel where found a love for complex, intricate, and challenging schedules. During this time, she helped send people to central and northwest Africa, as well as many other parts of the world.
When the industry changed in the late 90’s she took time to away from travel to focus on her family, however the love of travel beckoned her back. Moving back in Toronto to work for another tour operator, she spent 14 more years sending folks to Africa. While with her last company she traveled to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania.
When Mary Ellen is not at work, she loves spending time with her family (especially her new granddaughter!), surrounding herself with a vibrant garden, and enjoying the nearby lake with her adorable dog.
