Eagle Island Camp is best for those who do not do well in the heat since rooms have air conditioning which is rare in Botswana. The Belmond lodges are run a bit more like a hotel than an intimate camp. The camp location makes it ideal for water-based activities only so go elsewhere if you wanted to see big game

Just 12 large, light-flooded tented rooms make up the total accommodation of this intimate retreat. Each is carefully positioned to afford total privacy—and unspoiled Botswana vistas. Each luxury tented room is equipped with a daybed, desk, fully-stocked minibar and discreet air conditioning. An en-suite bathroom features a walled outdoor shower with a window overlooking the delta, a large indoor bathtub and walk-in wardrobe. Shelter from the midday heat for a cool siesta, or soak in your private plunge pool. Take to the terrace for a front row seat and watch the theatre of the savannah unfold. A viewing deck and the fully stocked bar are the ideal venue to watch the sunset over the Delta. Laze away a little time at the large heated swimming pool situated next to the lagoon.

During the months of November through March, when lower water levels make it possible to drive our open 4x4 vehicles off the island.
