Nairobi, Kenya

Gold price level

Mango Opinion

The rooms are gorgeous and built into the trees and the location is in the Karen district of Nairobi, close to the Giraffe Manor and Karen Blixen Museum. This is excellent if you have time to tour the sites for a day.

This property is expensive, but it is so special and stylish that if you can swing it, you will love it! Really!

Ngong House is a private home stay situated in the Karen neighborhood in Nairobi, near the Ngong Hills. Staying in unique tree houses, you will enjoy a very high degree of luxury. Four poster beds, crisp linen and exquisite, gourmet food are just the beginning.

Built entirely from wood, the tree houses are on two levels with a bedroom area upstairs and a living area on the lower floor. They are raised 15 ft from the ground to gain an uninterrupted view of the Ngong Hills over unspoiled bush. The talents of regional artists add many of the finishing touches, such as hand woven rugs, bed-covers, lamps and stained glass. The sitting room is centered around a fireplace with comfortable sofas and chairs.

In addition to the six tree houses, also available are a private cottage facing the swimming pool, a Log cabin perfect for families (sleeps up to 6 people), and a Suite in the main house, ideal for elderly and disabled people.

Ngong House ideally situated to visit many of Kenyas best attractions: Nairobi National Park, Karen Blixen Museum, wonderful golf courses and the exciting market in downtown Nairobi. Nature walks are a must, especially to visit the Giraffe Center, a twenty minute walk from Ngong House.
