Zambezi Queen

Chobe National Park, Botswana

Gold price level

Mango Opinion

This is an interesting boat option for people who enjoy cruising or want to spend a few days on the water. The game viewing all almost all water based except for 1 vehicle based drive so best combined with some camps where you get some land based exploration.

The Zambezi Queen operates on the great Chobe River situated between Namibia's Caprivi Strip from Botswana's Chobe National Park, and its exotic banks boast one of the densest populations of wildlife on the African continent. Enjoy incredible concentrations of elephants, leopards and lions, huge groups of buffalo, waterbuck, roan, eland, sable, giraffe, and, if you are lucky, one of the rare puku. In the river itself watch out for hippo and crocodile, and a rich selection of bird life.

Experience the thrill of it all from your own private suite aboard a luxury 45 meter boat. The Zambezi Queen is all about pampering, indulgence, and superior comfort. The first and second levels of the boat incorporate 14 cabins with private balconies and double or two single beds. Of the 14 suites, 4 are master suites, some with their own private outdoor areas. Because of the limitations regarding power, none of the suites have been fitted with air conditioning units. However, each private space has been designed with the African summer in mind, and clever use of shutters situated on the outer edge of the deck and fans ensures a cool experience. The entire boat including the top deck, living and dining area, has mosquito screening.

Activities include water-based game viewing on smaller boats which enables close-up viewing in an environment where the animals do not feel threatened, tiger and bream fishing in season and bird watching from smaller boats.
