Chobe Chilwero is without question the nicest property in Kasane. The downside is paying 5-star prices for a lodge in an area crowded with other tourists.
The game drives are plagued by there being only 1 entrance for all vehicles to enter and depart Chobe NP, so the crowds are inherent. The afternoon boat cruise is worth the trip and a highlight to many Botswana safaris.
On the boundary of Chobe National Park lays Chobe Chilwero Lodge. With breathtaking vistas as a backdrop, you'll come face-to-face with the fascinating creatures that roam about and enjoy unbelievable sunsets from the comfort of luxurious accommodation. The thatched cottages are elegantly appointed, with en-suite facilities, handcrafted soaking baths, private gardens and viewing terraces overlooking the peaceful Chobe River and any wildlife that stops to drink.
Game activities at Chobe Chilwero are scheduled flexibly, according to the whims of guests and the changing habits of the game. Guided game drives in open vehicles bring you to the heart of Africa's largest concentration of elephants, hippos, buffalos, puku, antelope and lions to name a few - or you can join their acclaimed guides on a wondrous water safari down the river. End each day with a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, followed by a sumptuous meal prepared by the expert culinary staff - a delicious, eclectic fusion of Western and African cuisine and delicacies - paired with vintage wines and spirits. High teas are often served on the lawn under the shade of the trees. Superlative game viewing and silver service may now be combined with the ultimate in pampering: in-room spa treatments, featuring everything from facials to full-body massages.
