Arusha National Park, Tanzania
Hatari Lodge
A funky and well run lodge, Hatari is located in a great Arusha National Park location with Mt. Kilimanjaro views. — Mango's view
Arusha National Park is located 29 km east of Arusha, and offers spectacular landscapes of craters, lakes, savannah, meadows and rich flora. It has the highest density population of giraffe in Africa! It is also home to groups of forest elephant, buffalo, waterbuck and bushbuck, duiker and dik dik. Many primates reside here as well, including black and white colobus monkey and blue monkey.
Hatari Lodge is located adjoining the park, where the worlds highest free standing mountain, Kilimanjaro rises majestically 5,892 meters into the blue skies above. Hatari Lodge is situated in a malaria free altitude above 5.000 ft on the northern edge of Arusha National Park, with its unspoiled views of lakes and craters, its magical rain forests, and the 4,566 metre high dormant volcano Mount Meru, rising elegantly in the background.
Each of the nine comfortably furnished rooms has an open fireplace and spacious en-suite bathroom. The main lodge has a restaurant and bar as well as a nearby viewing platform.
You have the entire day to explore Arusha National Park. You will have the option of a guided walk with a ranger combined with a driving safari in other parts of the park. If the clouds are cooperative, you will have excellent views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and also nearby Mt. Meru.
