We love Fundu Lagoon and think it is one of the best scuba spots off the African Coast! A very romantic tented resort, its stylish with patios overlooking the beautiful water. The Dhow sunset cruise and St. Germain playing at the Jetty Bar will forever be remembered!
While lovely, the rooms are still made with canvas walls - so not the luxury some may envision. The resort plans to build a central swimming pool which would be fabulous! Their suites with plunge pools are expensive but fabulous.

Fundu Lagoon is located on the west coast of Pemba Island, immediately north of Zanzibar. This resort offers a relaxed, secluded retreat on the shores of the Indian Ocean. Sixteen bungalows are spread over an 18 acre site on the beautiful Wambaa Peninsula. Rooms are raised on wooden platforms, all offering stunning ocean views and are constructed using luxury tents with traditional Zanzibari roofing. The owners of this resort were designers, and you feel it with every detail. Each bungalow has its own balcony and en-suite facilities.
The resort offers two restaurants, bars, a game and television room, massage services and a gift shop. The on-premise PADI dive center caters to all of your water sport needs. This fun atmosphere is created by a wonderful staff - at the same time supporting and employing nearly fifty locals.
Here you will have time to fish, snorkel, scuba and beach comb. Optional day trips to nearby Mesali Island will tempt you with gorgeous waters and beautiful pink corals. Pemba is well known for its spectacular diving. You can also choose from optional activities such as a sunset Dhow cruise, day sails to various locations, village visits and fishing excursions.
