Indian OceanSeychelles | Mauritius | Maldives | Madagascar The warm clear waters of the Indian Ocean are reputed to have some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the world. Human-sized sea fans, green turtles, stingrays, sharks, shipwrecks and the seasonal visits of the gigantic and playful whale sharks make it a diver's dream. Seychelles is the natural beauty of the bunch. This string of 115 granite islands set in the heart of the Indian Ocean represent an archipelago of legendary beauty with warm temperatures year round. Mauritius is filled with warm and friendly people, chic resorts that define immaculate service, croissants everyday for breakfast, championship golf and sugar plantations running into white sand. The Maldives are famous for their over-the-water floating rooms where you get out of bed and simply jump into the azure waters that surround you. Close to 1,200 islands are spread over 26 atolls, ring-like coral formations enclosing a lagoon, which give the Maldives its unique paradise-like appearance. Madagascar Madagascar is an island nation of 18 million people located in the Indian Ocean off the southeastern coast of Africa. About 165 million years ago the island splintered off of Africa (80 million years ago occurred the break from India). Because this vast island nation has been insolated so long, Madagascar is a biodiversity hotspot. Over 80% of Madagascar flora and fauna are endemic meaning they are found nowhere else on earth. We have spent months and months island hopping discovering all kinds of gems. Fresh seafood, white sand beaches and lazy days abound. We have really enjoyed sunset sailing cruises, comparing hot stone massage techniques, diving and snorkeling our way through these pristine reefs, and hacking our way through some amazing golf courses under the premise that we have to let you know what's up. Whether it's a honeymoon, island getaway or a few days of R&R after your safari, we can help you find your flavor of leisure in the Indian Ocean. |
