Days 1 — 3

Katavi National Park, Tanzania

Your flight arrives in Arusha, Tanzania. On arrival, you connect onto a private charter flight southwest to Katavi National Park. Your guide will be waiting to transfer you to camp on arrival.

With just six large tents and a maximum capacity of 12 guests, the guides at Chada Katavi sometimes joke that they can guarantee "a million hectares of virgin African bush per person." It is a combination of this unique isolation and some incredible concentrations of game that makes Katavi such a dream ticket.

Days 4 — 7

Mahale Mountains, Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania

Your safari gets even more remote today. You take another shared charter flight to the banks of Lake Tanganyika where you are met on arrival and escorted to the boat launch. You transfer across the lake to your camp Greystoke Mahale.

No roads for 50 miles. Man can only enter on foot or by boat. You'll find Greystoke camp on the beach, right at the heart of it all. Tracking chimpanzees will be a mind blowing experience.

Day 8

Depart

It's time to pack up all your camera gear and memories to make ready for the journey back to civilization. You take a shared charter flight back to Arusha. When you arrive, you connect onto your departure flight.
