Day 1

Arusha, Tanzania

Welcome to Africa! Your flight lands in the evening. You will meet your drive it he arrivals area for the transfer to your hotel.

An up market hotel located on a working coffee plantation on the outskirts of Arusha in Northern Tanzania.

Days 2 — 5

Katavi National Park, Tanzania

This morning after an early breakfast, you return to the regional airport and meet your shared charter to Katavi NP. Your guide will be waiting for you on arrival for the transfer back to camp.

With just 6 large tents and a maximum capacity of 12 guests, the guides at Chada Katavi sometimes joke that they can guarantee "a million hectares of virgin African bush per person." It is a combination of this unique isolation and some incredible concentrations of game that makes Katavi such a dream ticket.

Days 6 — 8

Mahale Mountains, Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania

After your morning safari and breakfast, you have a short flight to the Mahale Mountains. Here you meet a dhow for the hour long sail into camp.

No roads for 50 miles. Man can only enter on foot or by boat. You'll find Greystoke camp on the beach, right at the heart of it all. Tracking chimpanzees will be a mind blowing experience.

Days 9 — 11

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

This morning you say goodbye to the chimps and meet your shared charter to the Serengeti. Your guide will be waiting for you at the airstrip to bring you back to camp.

This luxury tented camp roams around the vast grass plains of Tanzania. Nomad safari guides look at where the concentrations of animals are at that time of year and place the camp in the best available location to access the action.

Day 12

Depart

After 2 glorious weeks in Africa, it is time to shake out the dust and start your journey home. You fly back to Arusha where you have time for a quick dinner before meeting your international connection.
