Day 1

Arusha, Tanzania

Welcome to Africa! Your flight lands at Kilimanjaro Airport in the evening. You will meet your driver in the arrivals area for your transfer to your hotel.

The renowned Arusha Hotel is a top notch overnight option in Arusha. The Hotel recently opened the only heated pool in town and also a new poolside massage room for a relaxing after safari treatment.

Days 2 — 4

Karatu, Tanzania

This morning after breakfast, your guide will meet you to depart on a lovely scenic drive into the rift valley. You spend the morning exploring Lake Manyara National Park, stopping for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot. You will arrive at your lodge by late afternoon.

Gibb's Farm is an oasis of green, calm and beauty, in a landscape that can often be parched, dry and dusty. Ideally located, the Farm lies half way between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater, near the village of Karatu

The next day you will spend exploring the complete ecosystem of the Ngorongoro Crater. You also have a day to spend photographing and enjoying the cultural and farm activities of lodge.

Days 5 & 6

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Today you depart for the Serengeti. You stop at the Ol Duvai Gorge en route. Olduvai Gorge in the Great Rift Valley of Tanzania was excavated by Louis and Mary Leakey in the mid-1950s. This site marks the discovery of hominid footprints preserved in volcanic rock 3.6 million years old and represent some of the earliest signs of mankind in the world.

Days 7 & 8

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Today you will depart with picnics for a full day in the Serengeti. You will arrive at your mobile camp in the late afternoon. Your camp will be set up at a pristine site near the Mara River. You will enjoy 2 days here with the hope of seeing large herds moving back into Tanzania and making those fateful River Crossings.

Day 9

Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania

After your final morning safari, you head to the airstrip where you say goodbye to your guide and meet your flight to Zanzibar. You guide will meet you in the arrivals area for your transfer to your hotel.

A beautifully restored sultan's palace that once was the home of one of the richest men in the Swahili Empire. The 16 guest rooms are beautiful and romantic, each representing Zanzibari traditions in a distinct way.

Days 10 — 12

Zanzibar, Tanzania

You have the morning to explore town and have lunch. You will meet your driver early afternoon for the transfer to the coast.

Matemwe is one of the most peaceful and scenic locations where nature is still unspoiled. You can enjoy snorkeling or diving at the unique and colorful Mnemba reef. For the lucky ones, whales, dolphins or sea turtles might be spotted. Kayaks and bicycles are available as well.

Day 13

Depart

After a memorable time in Tanzania, it is time to shake out the sand and start your journey home. You return to the Zanzibar airport to meet your international connection.
